Yesterday I found out that one of my favorite bands of all time, Bad Brains is coming to Brooklyn for the Afropunk concert next month. I am so excited! Upon hearing the big news I thought, what the heck am I going to wear? Finding clothes for a punk concert is a totally daunting affair. When you're head banging, moshing, and holding up a crowd surfer the last thing you want on your mind is: "Where the hell did my clutch go?" As with any concert it's important to simply wear things you'd be comfortable getting dirty/lost. It's somewhat challenging to be chic under such limiting circumstances but with creativity and a little bit of cash to spare you have potential to be belle of the brawl. Budget friendly staples like tanks, tees, jeans, and shorts are ideal but other options including dresses, rompers, catsuits, and tunics are also suitable. As far as footwear goes I would reach for some old boots like Aggy or kicks to ensure no one smashes my toes. If you don't mind hey be my guest and slip on cute sandals (you've been warned). Cute sunglasses, a small bag to fit necessities, some no frills jewelry and other personal finishes will complete your look. I went on Polyvore to create a few outfit ideas and here is what I brainstormed thus far: Click the picture for a full listing of every item above. Happy shopping, rock on! Woodstock 1969
